Five LAISF-funded teams in the final of the Hessen Ideen Competition

On December 5, 13 teams from 12 Hessian universities and AI Startup Rising | The Hessian. Center for Artificial Intelligence will compete against each other in the final of the Hessen Ideas Competition. The winning teams can look forward to prize money totaling over 20,000 euros. The Hessian Minister for Science and Art, Timon Gremmels, has taken on the patronage of the competition.

Particularly pleasing: five of the finalists are/were supported by the Lean AI Startup Funding (LAISF) from AI Startup Rising | hessian.AI. This funding program aims to strengthen research-driven start-up ideas in the field of artificial intelligence. It offers financial support of up to 30,000 euros for material costs over six months to develop prototypes, validate business models and reach investment readiness.

  • Studyquick: Develops an AI that generates individualized study materials, practice exams and learning content such as podcasts.
  • GEDYTE: Uses AI to revolutionize greenhouse cultivation and make innovative cultivation techniques accessible.
  • Ceres FieldCheck: Uses swarm robots to support small farmers in developing countries. These optimize crop yields by monitoring plants, removing weeds and avoiding the use of environmentally harmful chemicals.
  • ViSPAGI: Accelerates diagnostics with AI-based virtual staining technology for precise cell analysis.
  • MediEm: Develops an innovative emergency call button that increases efficiency and effectiveness in emergency situations.

The high proportion of AI Startup Rising startups among the finalists impressively demonstrates the enormous innovation potential of AI-supported startup ideas.
