Tell us in three sentences who you are

With KWINTELY, we make globally available technology knowledge accessible at the touch of a button. With the world’s first context search for patents and science, we provide technology companies with business-relevant insights through competition monitoring, freedom to operate and novelty of innovations.

How did the idea come about and what challenges had to be overcome?

The idea was born out of our own pain in 2016. Manual research with keywords in literature databases had once again taken 2 months and was ultimately incorrect and inadequate. That’s why we realised a completely keyword-free search method – context search. The method for finding patents and science in the context of your own invention. The biggest challenge was to ensure the quality of the data for training and validating our specialised neural networks and generative AI models.

How does KWINTELY work and how does AI support this project?

KWINTELY is based on our own database, our own neural networks and the provision on our own servers in Braunschweig without the integration of third-party services. AI is used in the form of specialised neural networks for research, clustering, translation and customised reporting.

Who are your potential customers? Can start-ups also benefit from your solution?

We achieve the greatest impact with technology companies that are technology leaders in their industry or want to become such with strong R&D, such as hidden champions. This also includes start-ups and scale-ups that benefit from KWINTELY, particularly when it comes to issues relating to freedom to operate or IP due diligence.

Does KWINTELY only cover patent searches for Germany or also for other countries (such as the USA)?

The data coverage is worldwide with a total of 270 million patents and scientific publications, with around 200 thousand entries being added every week.

Is your solution already being used in practice? What is the feedback so far?

KWINTELY is used in practice and is up to 14X faster compared to the market standard with the same or better quality of business-relevant results.
