SUMMARY:AI and the Future of Medicine: humans\, machines\, ethics
DESCRIPTION:An event organized by the Protestant Academy Frankfurt in cooperation with hessian.AI \n  \nLecture and discussion \nThe use of artificial intelligence is profoundly transforming everyday medical practice. From diagnostic imaging to robotic assistance and treatment documentation—AI can be applied in nearly every field. This raises important questions: How does the interaction between humans and machines change established diagnostic and treatment procedures? What skills do medical professionals need? And according to which ethical criteria must the use of AI be regulated for the benefit of patients? On this evening\, we will examine current research on human-machine interaction in the field of medicine\, hear the perspective of the developers of the first medical AI co-pilot approved in Germany\, and\, together with guests from the fields of ethics and clinical practice\, take a look at the present and future of AI in medicine. \n  \nFree admission\nRegistration requested\n  \nSpeakers:\nPD Dr. Markus Herrmann\, Philosopher and ethicist\, National Center for Cancer Diseases Heidelberg\n\nProf. Dr. Ekaterina Jussupow\, Professor of Business Informatics with a focus on human-AI interaction\, Technische Universität Darmstadt\n\n\nDr. Vera Rödel and Prof. Dr. Heinz Wiendl\, Founders and developers of the medical AI co-pilot „Prof. Valmed“ \nLead:\nDr. Helge Bezold\, Principal Investigator Evangelische Akademie Frankfurt \n\n\nRegister here (Link: KI und die Zukunft der Medizin – Evangelische Akademie Frankfurt)

SUMMARY:Pitch Club #35
DESCRIPTION:Over a decade of growth\, innovation\, and support for the startup scene in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region—that’s the Pitch Club. What began as a response to the challenges of a fragmented startup scene has evolved into a cornerstone of the regional ecosystem. Since our founding\, we have supported 346 exciting startups on their journey and presented them to more than 1\,320 investors. \n  \nOur focus has been clear from the start: solving the central problem facing founders—raising capital. To date\, over 48% of the participating startups have secured funding. In total\, startups that have participated in one of our Pitch Club events have been awarded more than €710 million in funding! \n  \nOn Wednesday\, September 9\, 2026\, we will host the 35th edition of the Pitch Club in Frankfurt. \n  \nFor our upcoming event\, up to ten promising early-stage startups with a proof of concept can qualify. They will have six minutes to inspire and convince the attending investors with their ideas. This will be followed by one-on-one meetings to discuss more in-depth questions and explore potential partnerships. \n  \nStartups can apply at https://thepitchclub.com/startup/ up to two and a half weeks before the event (August 23). \n  \nInvestors can apply at https://www.thepitchclub.com/de/investoren/.
