hessian.AI | AI Startup Rising: Building Bridges to the French AI Scene

The entrepreneurship project AI Startup Rising by hessian.AI | The Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence enabled additional Hessian startups—including MediEm, RentenNavi, autonomIQ, and CellScope—to participate in the RAISE Summit. This gave them the opportunity to get to know the French AI startup scene, establish valuable contacts, and network with international stakeholders.

France as a European Pioneer in Startup Support

In recent years, France has established itself as one of the leading locations for startups, and especially for AI innovation, in Europe. With over 750 AI startups (a 27% increase compared to the previous year) and massive investments—€2.5 billion allocated for AI funding under the “France 2030” program alone—France is setting new standards in innovation support. According to the Global Tech Ecosystem Index 2025, the capital Paris is among the world’s leading innovation hubs and ranks third in artificial intelligence, behind only Silicon Valley and Boston.

The French government supports startups through targeted programs, extensive research funding, and international collaborations with technology corporations (for example, the “AI Cluster” initiative—a €500 million project that is part of the comprehensive France 2030 investment program). Talent development is also a key focus: Over €560 million is being invested in AI education and centers of excellence. This consistent support makes France an exciting role model for other European countries—and an attractive platform for Hessian startups, who can gain valuable insights and contacts at the RAISE Summit.

The successes of Hessian startups at the RAISE Summit 2025 impressively demonstrate how internationally competitive and innovative the Hessian AI ecosystem is. At the same time, the exchange with the dynamic French scene offers new impulses and opportunities for the further development of the AI landscape in Hesse and Europe.
