At the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Department of Computer Science, there is a vacancy for a

Project Manager (f/m/d) – 3AI

initially limited until 31.03.2025.

The research of “The Third Wave of AI – 3AI” focuses on AI systems that acquire human-like communication and thinking skills and can recognise, classify and adapt to new situations independently. 3AI is funded as part of the “Cluster Projects” funding line of the state of Hesse in preparation for the next round of the Bund-Länder Excellence Strategy. The cutting-edge research project is closely integrated into the Hessian Centre for Artificial Intelligence – hessian.AI.

The project manager supports the project management and the executive board of 3AI and is responsible for the administrative and organisational measures for the ongoing operation of the cluster project.

Your tasks:

• Financial administration and project management of 3AI, e.g.:
  • Accounting and budget controlling (SAP), budget planning and monitoring, preparation of where-used lists, interim statements and requests for funds in cooperation with the sub-project managers.
  • Independent processing of personnel matters, e.g. recruitment procedures
  • Accounting for business trips, workshops and conferences
• Contribute to the development, introduction and implementation of measures to promote research, young researchers and mobility in 3AI:
  • Participation in the organisational and administrative conception and implementation of the programmes
  • Providing information and advice to researchers
  • Organisation of Lecture Series of the scientists

Your profile:

• a university degree or equivalent qualification to perform the job
• many years of (professional) experience in the management of funding projects
• in-depth experience in project management
• a great interest in science management
• a reliable, cooperative, creative and self-reliant way of working
• a strong ability to handle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities
• strong written and oral communication skills in English and German
• Ability to work under pressure, willingness to work hard and ability to work in a team
• service orientation
