Jörg’s research focuses on understanding the knowledge represented in machine learning models, the transfer of (human) knowledge into those models, and between models. Knowledge transfer encompasses the adaptation of models to fix improper reasoning or to tailor outcomes towards particular target groups.

The junior research group in particular investigates and develops models of perception and customizable language generation, in order to model both, properties of language and properties of people. Prioritizing diversity over a “one size fits all” methodology, the group aims to make the benefits of AI language systems equally accesible to every indivdual.
