Exploring the World of Artificial Intelligence: Girls’ Day 2026 at hessian.AI
On April 23, 2026, the Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence – hessian.AI – will open its doors for the nationwide Girls’ Day. Together with KI macht Schule, the event will offer students fascinating insights into the foundations and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and show how innovative ideas can evolve into successful start-ups.
The morning will focus on research: What exactly is AI, how does it work, and why is it important for science, everyday life, and society? In the afternoon, participants will get hands-on experience by developing their own AI-based ideas in teams and presenting them to a jury.
A special highlight of the day will be a talk with a female founder from the field of “AI & Education.” She will share her personal journey from idea to company and answer all the participants’ questions.
With this program, hessian.AI aims to inspire young women to explore the diverse world of Artificial Intelligence, encourage creative thinking, and demonstrate the many opportunities that research and entrepreneurship in AI can offer.
The Girls’ Day – Career Orientation Day for Girls is a nationwide initiative promoting career and study orientation for girls. It is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
On Girls’ Day, girls get the chance to discover careers or study programs in which women make up less than 40 percent of the workforce—such as in IT, crafts, natural sciences, or technology. They can also meet female role models in leadership positions from business and politics.
The next Girls’ Day will take place on April 23, 2026.
