hessian.AI at chiotec 2025: Innovation, Networking, and Startup Power

On July 2, 2025, this year’s chiotec took place in Aachen – a flagship event of the STARTUP WEEK AACHEN and a true highlight for the innovation and startup community. More than just a traditional conference, chiotec positions itself as a movement, a mindset, and a community that brings together thought leaders, founders, researchers, investors, industry representatives, and other key players from across Germany and beyond. This year’s core topics included Artificial Intelligence (AI), Climate Tech, Mobility, Energy, Inclusion, Defense, and Impact. The event’s mission is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, spark new ideas, and further establish Aachen as a startup city

High-profile guests and inspiring panels

chiotec 2025 impressed with a remarkable guest list: Alongside leading figures from academia and business, many innovative startups, investors, and representatives from RWTH Aachen, RWTH Innovation, the Collective Incubator, CHIO Aachen, ATEC, and the Aachen Technology and Entrepreneurship Congress were in attendance. This diversity highlights chiotec’s ambition to build an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem that radiates far beyond the region.

hessian.AI and JAIF: A joint booth for European AI innovation

hessian.AI | The Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence participated with its own booth in collaboration with the JUPITER AI Factory (JAIF). JAIF is a pan-European flagship initiative with a budget of €55 million, aiming to significantly advance the European AI infrastructure. Its goal is to strengthen science, industry, and society through open innovation, access to Europe’s first exascale supercomputer, and the development of trustworthy AI systems.

hessian.AI contributes its expertise in large language models (LLMs), startup support, and the development of safe and trustworthy AI. This collaboration with JAIF bridges cutting-edge AI research with real-world applications, playing a vital role in enhancing Europe’s global competitiveness in artificial intelligence.

Startups from the hessian.AI ecosystem in the spotlight

A particular highlight was the strong presence of startups from AI Startup Rising, hessian.AI’s entrepreneurship program:

Summetix, an alumni startup from the hessian.AI incubator, took part in a panel discussion. The company specializes in extracting and analyzing key insights from large volumes of text, using advanced AI technologies such as argument mining and large language models. Summetix helps companies identify trends and patterns in customer feedback and market data early on, providing them with a competitive edge.

Tentris, another alumni startup from the 2024 “Ignition” incubator batch, presented its innovative tensor-based knowledge graph platform. This solution enables the efficient storage, linking, and AI-driven use of large and complex data sets. Tentris addresses key challenges in data integration and analysis for both research and industry, bridging the gap between academic excellence and market-ready software solutions.

chiotec 2025 offered a wealth of exciting insights, inspiring conversations, and valuable networking opportunities. We are already looking forward to the next edition of chiotec and to once again being part of this dynamic and forward-thinking community.
