Hybrid Intelligence in Higher Education

Insights into Hybrid Intelligence in Higher Education – Joint Info Session by ITeG and hessian.AI at the University of Kassel

How can AI systems transform teaching and learning in higher education? This question is being explored by an interdisciplinary research team at the University of Kassel as part of the federal-state initiative “AI in Higher Education.”

In the info session “AI-based Learning Systems in Higher Education,” Prof. Dr. Matthias Söllner and Prof. Dr. Gerrit Hornung, together with their teams, presented findings from four years of research on the socio-technical design of hybrid intelligence. The focus was on concepts that combine AI and human expertise to foster individual and flexible skill development.

The project’s “Legal Writers” application tool demonstrated how AI-based learning systems can support law students, while also providing a platform to discuss the legal frameworks governing the use of AI in higher education in Hesse and beyond.

The event, held at the ITeG of the University of Kassel, offered fascinating insights into the future of AI-supported teaching and learning in higher education.
