Thorsten Papenbrock has a Professorship at the Philipps-University in Marburg, where he leads the “Big Data Analytics” research group. The group’s main research objective is to explore how data science can support the development of new technologies for climate protection and efficient resource consumption. For this, Thorsten and his team conduct research across the entire data analytics pipeline including data preparation, profiling, integration, cleaning, querying, and learning. The group has a strong background in database systems and distributed computing and published the open-source data profiling tool Metanome.
