Professor Wahlster inducted Into the “Hall of Fame of German Research”
hessian.AI Fellow Professor Wolfgang Wahlster, founding director of the German Research Center for AI, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of German Research at a ceremony held at the New Institute in Hamburg on October 12, 2023. To date, only 30 individuals (including nine Nobel laureates) have been selected as outstanding innovators whose life’s work has made an distinguished contribution to the advancement of research and thus to Germany’s competitiveness in the international high-tech arena.
The Board of Trustees responsible for the nominations includes the presidents of the Max Planck Society, the Fraunhofer Society, and the German Academy of Science and Engineering. The jury, which makes the final selection of the two yearly laureates, is composed of top executives, including board members from Siemens and Daimler. Professor Wahlster was honored for his 45 years of research on multimodal dialog systems and smart factory solutions for Industrie 4.0.
