Female Student Travel Award 2026
Are you a student enthusiastic about technology, innovation, and connecting with inspiring minds in your field? The Female Student Travel Award 2026 offers you the opportunity to attend leading events that connect and celebrate women in computer science and engineering — and we’ll take care of your travel expenses!
The joint initiative by the Collaborative Research Center CROSSING (TU Darmstadt), the LOEWE Center emergenCITY, the Cluster of Excellence Reasonable AI (RAI), and the Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence (hessian.AI) recognizes outstanding achievements by female students in fields connected to the participating research centers.
Awardees will have the chance to attend one of the following prominent conferences, offering exceptional opportunities for networking, inspiration, and exchange:
- Informatica Feminale and Ingenieurinnen-Sommeruni
- ditact Summer Studies
- Ada Lovelace Festival
- Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing
- Women Engineers (WE) Conference
- or another scientific conference related to the topics of the partnering research centers
What to expect
- Funded travel and participation: Travel, accommodation, and conference fees will be covered according to TU Darmstadt travel regulations.
- Networking and visibility: Connect with leading experts, researchers, and industry representatives in your field.

The award ceremony and Ruzena Bajcsy Lecture on Communications and Resilience will take place on 8 May 2026 in Darmstadt, hosted by the LOEWE Center emergenCITY.

Female students with excellent academic performance in fields related to artificial intelligence, computer science, engineering, or one of the participating centers are invited to apply. Applications should include:
- A letter of motivation
- Your curriculum vitae (CV)
- A transcript of records
- A short description of your connection to the research fields of CROSSING, emergenCITY, hessian.AI, or RAI
