hessian.AI Helps Shape the Opening of the New “Q and AI” Application Center
The opening of the new “Q and AI” application center for AI and quantum computing at Bertramshof in Frankfurt showcases how innovation in Hesse will be approached in the future: interconnected, application-oriented, and visible.
For hessian.AI, the event was marked by two key aspects: moving into the new office in the manor house and, more importantly for us, helping to design the (AI) startup area within Futury’s community spaces.
Around 30 AI startups from the hessian.AI community presented their solutions—and impressively demonstrated how excellent research translates into concrete applications.
This bridge between cutting-edge AI research and economic application, which the startups represent, ran as a central theme throughout the opening—from the welcoming remarks by Minister President Boris Rhein and Digital Minister Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus, through the new showroom at Bertramshof, to the “Economic Factor” panel featuring hessian. AI Professor and Co-Director Mira Mezini.
If you missed the Startup Area in person, you can still get a sense of it: Our AISR Co-Lead Tobi Kehl used the event to give a sneak peek at the next version of the AI Startup Landscape Hessen. You can find all the startups presented here (and in the comments: https://lnkd.in/dECuvmyP)
Further updates on the next AI Startup Landscape and the new features of the 2026 edition will follow shortly.
In addition to the many exciting applications, there were other special highlights: Two robots from the lab of hessian.AI professor Jan Peters drew a lot of attention—and visitors to the hessian.AI booth even had a chance to win the iconic robot C3PO!
About the new “Q and AI” Application Center
The “Q and AI” Application Center at Bertramshof in Frankfurt is designed as a central hub for innovation in artificial intelligence and quantum computing in Hesse, under the leadership of the House of Digital Transformation. The goal is to accelerate the commercialization of future technologies by closely connecting research, startups, businesses, and society.
A big thank you to the teams at Futury and the House of Digital Transformation for the great collaboration and for organizing this successful kickoff.
Finally, a special round of applause for the entire hessian.AI team for their tremendous effort both on and off the stage—and to all the startups that once again demonstrated, through their ideas, products, and pitches, just how much AI innovation potential there is in Hesse.
